Train't

This was an assignment for cinematography this week. We first designed a train and drew it however we wanted. The next drawing of the train was in a composition that made it appear mysterious or bad, and then we drew another version where it was composed to seem heroic or very positive.

I should really work on my perspective.

Classmates

I tried to draw fast and simply, with each line in a single motion. Its fun when it turns out nicely. But here are a few from class.

48 Hour 2012!

I See You from Jacob Streilein on Vimeo.

Here is a really adorable video and I hope you love it. Made for Calarts' 48 hour film. The theme was 'EYE'.

The BFG

We are starting a longterm design project in Phil's class now, and we are supposed to pick a story and design the characters for it.  I decided to go with Roald Dahl's The BFG. Here are some preliminary sketches of some of the characters. I haven't touched some of the other characters, but this was just for an idea pitch for class, so don't be mad at me.

Alex and Brigette

Alex Hirsh came in to class today and talked about inspiring things. He seems like a cool guy.

And also here is a pixel Brigette because Charlotte inspired me. Click her name to see her better pixel drawings.

Some Caricature

I snuck into Jonny's life drawing class on caricature day and only got a few drawings in, but here they are!

Mosquit- OH NO!

A little baby scale assignment. That poor little bloodsucker. Serves him right! He kept biting me all day today. I probably shouldn't ever go outside again now.

David Weidman

So we were supposed to pick an artist and design a family of characters in their style. Phil wanted us to aim for a drawing that felt like that artist drew it themselves. Ryan Matias introduced me to David Weidman, and I ended up designing this farm family in his style. Fun project!
